JOB TITLE: Creative Director 


JOB OBJECTIVE:  Responsible for the overall supervision of the firm’s creative product, both design and copy on all platforms.  The creative director interfaces between the client, the account team, and the creative department.  The creative director participates on the Ten Acre Marketing leadership team providing strategic guidance to set the stage for the sustainable growth of the firm. They are responsible for applying their visual language acumen to strategic marketing plans and bringing them to life through their creative aesthetic.

The creative director will be responsible for determining the best course of action to deliver the highest level of execution on all creative projects, whether on his/her own, as assigned to the firm staff, or with freelancers of their choice. All creative work must be approved by the creative director before being presented to the client. Most of all, the creative director will have a vision of the importance of excellence when it comes to the creative product output of the firm.  

This person must enthusiastically, effectively, and creatively be able to position brands to advance agriculture.


  • Accountability that all creative projects are on time, on budget, and on strategy

  • Directs or executes the creative product and strives for excellence in everything from concept to completion of every project on schedule

  • Manages creative/production department as well as oversees and selects freelance and contractors who are involved in creative projects

  • Attends download meetings to ensure creative briefs and direction are clear prior to handing the project over to the creative team

  • Ensures that concepts for projects/campaigns meet approved strategic marketing strategies and objectives

  • Manages the creative/production department’s day-to-day operations

  • Coordinates with account team to schedule creative/production jobs according to the scope of work – confirming client review and delivery schedules

  • Is called on the request of the account team, or by his/her own request, to “sell” creative at client presentations

  • Interviews and screens applicants for creative positions (internal and freelance) as well as hiring and terminating

  • Represents the firm in creative/professional/industry events

  • Mentor and encourage creative team members to foster a positive work environment

  • Participate in and provide regular opportunities for professional development and growth to the team

  • Work with internal and external strategic partners to create results using the most current industry best practices


  • Must be tenacious, empowered, and networked

  • 5+ years of agency experience is a plus

  • Strong conceptual and visual design skills, working closely with copywriters and developers

  • A mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite

  • Proficient with a variety of software programs relating to design and art execution

  • Strong visual communications skills and language as supported by a portfolio of work

  • High comfort level interacting with high-profile clients and industry professionals

  • Evidence of participation in ongoing professional development

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, such as project management, and coaching abilities

  • Talent in presenting information concisely and accurately, with keen attention to detail and excellence
